Learn to play the cello!
Anna Fritz offers private cello lessons in northeast Portland, Oregon.
She specializes in adult beginners, but also works with teenagers and more advanced students. Anna has a strong focus on solid technique and cultivating a healthy ergonomic approach to the instrument. She is happy to tailor her curriculum to the individual student's learning style and the kind of music they want to play.
In NE Portland, Anna has maintained a studio of private students since 2009. She offers periodic ensemble classes (fall, spring, and sometimes summer sessions) for students within her studio to gain experience playing chamber music with other cellists. She also provides semi annual performance opportunities for students who are interested and willing to share what they're learning with each other, their friends and families.
Anna has been playing the cello for more than 30 years. She received her classical training in Milwaukee and Madison, Wisconsin, culminating with instruction from Professor Uri Vardi, student of Janos Starker. Since then, Anna has performed and recorded with numerous bands and artists of many genres. She has released three solo albums as a cellist and folksinger and spent seven years touring extensively with Portland Cello Project.
