Wildly talented artist Reeva Wortel has been painting portraits and interviewing families in Portland, Oregon during the past year. In this process she has gathered images and stories of the politics, history, and culture of Portland as well as stories of survival, love, and transformation.
The project is titled Look Me In The Eye and what has been created so far will be exhibited at The Portland City Hall from July 14th--July 24th Monday-Friday 9am-5pm.
There will be an opening reception and performance event on Tuesday, July 14th from 3-5.
From 3:30-4:30 local actors will read excerpts of the interviews accompanied by Anna Fritz on cello.
The event is free and open to the public.
