This is the first of six FREE performances at The Gerding Theater to showcase portraits painted by Reeva Wortel, and I'll be playing cello at four of them! For those of you who missed the full length show at City Hall this summer, this is a chance to catch glimpses of this incredible work! (also: there will be snacks and your first drink at the bar is free!)

Artist Reeva Wortel has spent the past year interviewing and painting portraits of families in Portland, Oregon. Reeva was awarded a grant from the Regional Arts & Culture Council for this project, in which she collaborated with Portland City Hall to create a portrait installation and interactive performance about the city’s politics and culture, development, and gentrification. The project examines disparities and similarities of family life in Portland, told through stories of survival, love, and transformation.

The portraits are being exhibited during the run of Our Town at The Gerding Theater at The Armory September 22nd - October 4th and each performance happens immediately before the play. If you'd like to see Our Town after seeing the Portrait Performance you can get $10 off using the promotional code: REEVA
