Anna Fritz / Road Sodas

Mississippi Pizza Pub, 3552 N. Mississippi Ave., Portland, OR

My only solo show this fall, as I'm hard at work on a new album project! I'm joined this evening by fellow climate activists and acoustic musicians, the Road Sodas!

Admission is sliding scale $5 - $20 with no one turned away.

Armed with only a banjo and guitar, the Road Sodas infuse traditional songs and melodies with emotive harmonies and sparse, thoughtful arrangement. Their lyrics blend the political with the personal, creating songs that are as much about the heart as they are a call to action.

The Road Sodas are:

Michael Gaskill has been performing folk and bluegrass for over a decade. He has recorded and toured throughout the country with Left Coast Country and Brown Chicken Brown Cow Stringband, and currently performs with Portland bluegrass band, The Wild Wood. Find his music at thewildwoodmusic.com

Meredith Cocks is a former member of the Portland Radical Choir, and has been performing with the Road Sodas for the past two years.

They will also be joined by genre-defying cellist Yoko Silk. Yoko was a member of the Bad Mitten Orchestra, and has collaborated on projects ranging from classical to folk to hip-hop.
