Ballard Sessions Live #6: Anger and Hope Ballard Sessions Live #6 | Tue Apr 25 | $10 Advance $15 Door Doors 7p | Open mic 730p | Show 8p BRING: Pillows/cushon to sit on

Super happy to be bringing back Ballard Sessions Live after a two year absence.

Art is more important than ever in these uncertain times, as a revealer of truth as well as a healing salve, and my expectation is this show will have both in abundance.

Normally the lineups for Ballard Sessions Live are secret until showtime, but I am making an exception for Seth Mountain, a local artist now living in South Korea. His sound and subject matter is reminiscent of Pete Seeger and early Bob Dylan, super-relevant folk protest songs (check out his "Ballad of Eric Garner") with some singalongs mixed in for levity.

Joining Seth will be Anna Fritz, a cellist/folksinger from Portland, and one or two Ballard Sessions alumni who must remain nameless until showtime due to other engagements.

We're all trauma-weary, so although there will be plenty of protest music, trust that there will be songs of hope and joy as well. :)

Normally doors are at 7pm and show starts at 8, but since we have very little setup (the show is unamplified, given the Abbey's natural acoustics) we're having a short "open mic" at 7:30, so hit me up if you have a protest song/poem to share.

Also: I will be filming the show as per usual (no cameras, please). Also: No chairs, so bring a cushion (come early to get a wall spot). Also: There will be wine.
