AN ILIAD by Lisa Peterson and Denis O’Hare based on Homer’s The Iliad, translated by Robert Fagles Music composed by Anna Fritz Performed by Paul Susi & Anna Fritz
The Fig Tree Committee knits together audiences by touring AN ILIAD, by Lisa Peterson and Denis O'Hare, to correctional facilities, while also performing for the communities that surround them. So far, over 3,000 people have seen their production of AN ILIAD, most of whom were incarcerated at the time. Following a successful tour of prisons in Oregon, The Fig Tree Committee will be touring to correctional facilities in Wisconsin and New England in October 2024 – including several facilities in Maine. In conjunction with these shows, they will also be performing for the public, using one of the world's oldest stories to examine the cycles of violence, trauma, displacement, and hope for healing that unite us all. The performance runs 90 minutes and will be followed by a post-show conversation with the performers. Tickets are pay what you will.
